The following information describes the performance of the original EquiTrend Market Timing System during the Millenium Bear Market period.

In a bull market, approximately 60% of stocks go up in value, but in a bear market, 90% of stocks decrease in value. To prove this point, the table below compares an investor’s performance if they had chosen a buy-and-hold strategy for trading the major U.S. equity indices, versus following EquiTrend’s market-timing signals. (We do not issue different market-timing signals for each index.) As you can see from the results, the tide lifts and sinks most boats.



Today, EquiTrend subscribers trade numerous investment products that benchmark to the above indices. These include (but are not limited to): exchange-traded funds, mutual funds, options, futures, swaps, contracts-for-difference, and individual stocks.

Therefore, to be fair to all of our clients, we benchmark our performance to the major U.S. equity indices rather than to any one particular investment product.
