EquiTrend is an end-of-day investment tool to help you invest with the direction of the stock market. If you wish to start using EquiTrend, you need to Join The EquiTrend Community. Our members receive a nightly email update on EquiTrend’s position on the market. You will also have access to a “Members Only” section of the Website.
In the nightly email updates, the types of signals you will see are as follows:
- Unchanged. This indicates that the EquiTrend
market timing signal has not changed, and is your signal to
continue your current position in the market. The majority of
email messages will indicate unchanged.
- Signal Alert. This indicates that the EquiTrend
market timing signal has changed, and it is your indication
to follow the link on the email to the signal page of the web
site to check the new signal. That new signal could be
one of three signals:
- Long. EquiTrend expects the market to increase
in value. You should buy the equity, ETF, or mutual fund that
you have chosen to trade.
- Short. EquiTrend expects the market to decrease
in value. You should take a short position by either selling
short the investment you intend to trade or buy an inverse ETF
or mutual fund. If you are a long-only trader, then you should
sell your holdings and move to a money market account.
- Cash. EquiTrend expects the market to trade sideways, neither increasing or decreasing in value significantly. You should sell your holdings and move your assets to a money market account.
I never realized how much fun it was to
make money while the market is going down. It is like I have been living my
life with one arm and I just discovered that I have a second arm to use. I
wish I had found you guys before now.

The EquiTrend Stock Market Timing System is an end-of-day system. You should receive all EquiTrend signals on or before midnight Eastern Standard Time after the close of every market day. We use weekends and holidays to check on all of our indicators and conduct additional research; therefore, we do not generally issue our end-of-week (Friday) signal until Sunday night.
Once in a while, we might miss our midnight goal and deliver our market timing signal during the early morning hours; however, unless we are experiencing severe technical difficulties, all signals will be issued before the market opens the next trading day. Please remember that email is not perfect. Sometimes, things can and will go wrong. If you haven't received an email message, there is an easy, alternate way to check the current signal: Simply sign onto our “Members Only” section of the EquiTrend.com Website. There, you will see the following types of stock market timing signals:
EquiTrend Signals

EquiTrend Buy Signal This is a buy/long signal. indicating that we anticipate the market will move higher. If you are currently short, cover your short position and take a long position the next trading day. If you are in cash, take a long position the next market day.
EquiTrend Sell Signal This is a sell/short/cash signal. EquiTrend anticipates that the market will move lower. You should sell your long position and take a short or cash position the next market day.
Equitrend Cash Signal This is a cash/money-market signal. Equitrend anticipates that the market will trade sideways without moving significantly higher or lower. If you are currently long or short, you should exit those positions and place your assets in a cash or money market position the next market day.
Investment Styles
How you use EquiTrend depends a great deal on how you like to trade, but there are two basic methods to utilize the EquiTrend Stock Market Timing System briefly described below:
Long Only This investment style means you only invest as the market increases. You invest with the market, or "go long," when EquiTrend fires a Buy Signal. When EquiTrend fires a Sell Signal, you invest your money in some type of money market fund. Investors with this investment style plan to grow their money in the “up” markets and protect their capital in the “down” markets.
Long and Short This investment style means you invest with the market, whether it increases or decreases. You invest with the market, or “go long," when EquiTrend fires a Buy Signal and "go short" when EquiTrend fires a Sell Signal. With this strategy, an investor plans to grow his or her money in both “up” and “down” markets.
When to Trade
Remember, the EquiTrend Stock Market Timing System is an end-of-day signal. This means your first opportunity to trade in regular market hours (9:30 - 4:00 EST) will be at the opening price the day after you receive the EquiTrend signal.
If you are trading mutual funds, you will most likely have to execute a trade at the close of the following day. If you are trading ETFs or some other exchange-traded investment product, you can trade them anytime the market is open, or in after-hours trading.
